Car Seat Safety
Children from birth to one year and at least 20-22 pounds should be in a rear-facing car seat. Place harness straps at or below shoulder level. Additionally, current car seat safety regulations strongly suggest not putting heavy clothing or jackets under car seat restraints. These prevent car seat harness straps from being snug against the baby. For more information on car seat safety please visit the NHTSA website.
Sleepwear Safety
According to the U.S. Product Safety Commission, blankets in a crib can bunch around your baby’s face and cause re-breathing of oxygen depleted air - a suspected cause of SIDS. Therefore, it has been recommended that no blankets be used in the crib during your baby's first year.
